Cruse Bereavement Support

Description of the role

Cruse is looking for great listeners who can work with bereaved people to find solace. Cruse provides full training (accredited) and ongoing support and development. Volunteers work with 2-3- clients at a time, meeting either by phone, Zoom or in person, to listen and support.

You can be Cruse accepted counselling students and trained therapists, but no prior experience is needed. The key qualities are compassion, reflectiveness and great listening skills.

Practical Considerations

Cruse works remotely, with accessible community outposts being used if clients are seen in-person. We have a full suite of policies and support to help volunteers and volunteers can claim expenses for any costs incurred.

  • Must be over 18.

About the organisation

Cruse supports bereaved people navigate their grief. We train volunteers to support bereaved people in 1-2-1 or group situations, predominantly by phone or online.
