Description of the role
Our Dementia Meeting Centre volunteers support the Meeting Centre Assistants to enable the smooth running of the Centres.
Main duties will include:
- Helping to set up the Meeting Centre beforehand including moving chairs and tables
- Welcoming people as they arrive
- Providing refreshments, teas, coffee, biscuits etc
- Talking and supporting people whilst taking part in group activities
- Helping to run and support session activities
- Helping to clear away after the session
We are looking for a volunteer who is patient, reliable and flexible, with good communication skills. It is important that they are committed to inclusion and treating people from all backgrounds with dignity and recognise the importance of confidentiality.
Practical Considerations
Travel expenses will be paid.
