SSAFA WORCESTERSHIRE (Bromsgrove & Redditch)

Description of the role

SSAFA caseworkers provide friendly support to Veterans and their families, from all the Services. Typically, caseworkers help to assess the needs of the client and access the appropriate assistance from other Service charities. This could include obtaining financial assistance or accessing special equipment for clients with disabilities. Caseworkers are supported by their own local area Secretary or the County Secretary.

We are looking for:
People who want to offer a helping hand to UK Veterans, and their families, from all three Services.

Practical Considerations

  • Caseworkers receive all necessary training for the role.
  • The actual caseworking is mainly done from home, although SSAFA Worcestershire have an office located in Worcester city centre.
  • All caseworking expenses are paid.
  • A military background is useful but certainly not essential.
  • Access to a car is essential for some geographical areas.
  • Some very basic IT skills are needed, and training is provided.

  • Own vehicle or access to vehicle
  • Own a computer or have secure access to one
