Victim Support (Bromsgrove)

Description of the role
Community Engagement Volunteers help us to engage our local communities to inform and educate them about crime and our work.
You will:
- Assist the Hate Crime team to deliver Hate Crime training and awareness sessions to key partners and communities.
- Help to increase public confidence in the response to hate crimes and incidents throughout agencies and organisations.
- Promote the reporting of hate crime and incidents across West Mercia, especially across under-represented groups.
- Uphold and promote the values of Victims Support and treat colleagues and service users in a fair and non-discriminatory way.
- Need to feel confident speaking to small and larger groups of people. However the majority of this will be carried out by the Hate Crime Awareness team.
- Occasionally training is delivered outside of normal office hours.
- Collect and review feedback following sessions.
We are looking for someone:
- Approachable and non-judgemental manner
- Good listening and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System

This opportunity covers the Bromsgrove area.
When is the opportunity available?
To be discussed with the organisation but you should work around 3 hours per week.
