St John’s Nursing Home

Description of the role
There is a resident, leg amputee, confined to an electric wheelchair, who has recently been bereaved. We are looking for someone who could befriend her by visiting regularly and just having a chat over a cup of coffee here in the home, maybe going for a walk around town or such activities that might help her not feel so alone. There is no requirement to push a wheelchair as theirs is electric and is safe going out and about.
The person who would fill this very pleasant task would be friendly, cheerful and able to walk reasonable distances. An understanding of bereavement may be helpful.
Practical Considerations
Expenses incurred while with our resident would be reimbursed within reason. No qualifications would be necessary but some knowledge of bereavement may be helpful. There is free parking on site.
Any specific requirements
- Will require a Criminal Record Check (DBS).
- Will need your own vehicle or have personal access to one.
- Driving License is required.
- Must be 21 or over.
Where is the opportunity based?
