Description of the role

Redditch Association for the Blind is a wonderful local charity supporting blind and partially sighted people in Redditch Borough. We need an enthusiastic, warm and friendly person to help organise the fortnightly luncheon club at Webheath Village Hall for 15 attendees.

Tasks include picking up the sandwiches and desserts, ringing to arrange dial a ride transport, and thinking of enjoyable activities (quizzes, music) for the 2-3 hour lunch session fortnightly.

Volunteers must be:

  • A warm and friendly person.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in working with older people, although not necessarily with a visual impairment.
  • Able to engage in a friendly manner with older people.
  • Able to work alongside other committee members who assist at the club.
  • Able to get to Webheath Village Hall.

Practical Considerations

  • Volunteer expenses available as needed.

  • Must be 18 or over to apply

This opportunity is located at Webheath Village Hall.

When is the opportunity available?

Fortnightly, between about 11am-1:30pm.

Redditch Association for the Blind has been supporting people with visual impairment since its commencement in 1994.

Our aim is to provide social opportunities and interaction for people who are registered blind, partially sighted, or who are experiencing significant sight loss, improving the quality of life and wellbeing of people experiencing and living with sight loss within the Borough of Redditch.
