Description of the role
The Safeguarding Trustee plays a crucial role in ensuring that Redditch Nightstop provides a safe and supportive environment for all service users, volunteers, staff, and trustees. This role provides strategic leadership and oversight of safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring they are robust, up-to-date, and effectively implemented across the organisation. The Safeguarding Trustee acts as a champion for safeguarding, promoting a culture of vigilance and proactive risk management.
We are looking for:
- Significant experience and knowledge of safeguarding principles and best practice, preferably gained in the voluntary sector.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and guidance relating to safeguarding.
- Ability to provide strategic leadership and guidance on safeguarding matters.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, trustees, and external agencies.
- Commitment to the values and aims of Redditch Nightstop.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Practical Considerations
Our office is based on the first floor of the Old Needle Works, we can access rooms on the ground floor when required. Expenses for travel can be claimed.

The opportunity is in Redditch. It is home based but the office base is at The Old Needle Works, Redditch
When is the opportunity available?
Tor two quarterly meetings, one with the charity manager and the trustee board.
