Coffee Bar Assistant

Ecumenical Centre

Description of the role

We are aiming to be a place of rest and relaxation. We are looking for volunteers who can give their time to make hot drinks using the facilities provided, keep within hygiene guidelines, whilst making people feel welcome. There are regular slots on Saturday mornings and during school holiday time in particular we are looking to cover.

In the role you must work as part of a team to run the coffee bar in a voluntary capacity. Setting up the coffee bar and putting away. Making and serving hot or cold drinks, toast and selling pre packed confectionary. Taking payments and providing change. Clearing and cleaning cups etc cleaning the coffee bar and tables. Adhering to Emmanuel Church’s policies and procedures

We are looking for someone who is friendly, a good listener, awareness of customers needs, punctual and reliable, an awareness of good personal hygiene. No previous experience, skills or qualifications required.

Practical Considerations

TO SET UP THE COFFEE BAR A START TIME OF 9.30AM IS PREFERRED, HOWEVER IF THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE AND THE PERSON CANNOT ARRIVE BEFORE 10AM, THE SETTING UP CAN POSSIBLY BE DONE. THE PERSON WILL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH ONE OTHER PERSON, SO THE ABILITY TO BE ABLE TO WORK OR BE PREPARED TO LEARN TO WORK AS A TEAM WOULD BE BENEFICIAL.
