Description of the role
Age UK North Worcestershire runs several charity shops across North Worcestershire which generate valuable income to help us to continue to provide our wide range of services. It’s fair to say that our shops couldn’t open without the astonishing commitment from our volunteers!
There are many ways you can support your local Age UK shop, whether it’s behind the scenes or on the shop floor.
Volunteer roles include:
- Serving customers
- General housekeeping
- Sorting stock
- Creating window displays
- Stock rotation
We are looking for:
- No previous retail experience is required.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Being able to work as part of a team and with the general public.
Practical Considerations
What you can expect from us? We will make sure that you receive appropriate training for the role and that you have the support of a member of staff. We will also cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses for volunteers.
Any specific requirements
- Must be age 16 or older.
- Any additional requirements will be discussed with you and the organisation.
Where is the opportunity based?
Age UK BRWF has shops in Bromsgrove, Catshill, Rubery, Redditch, Matchborough, Headless Cross, Winyates and Stourport, with Kidderminster opening soon.
When is the opportunity available?
Volunteering days available to be discussed between you and the organisation.

Age UK North Worcestershire is a local, independent charity which supports older people, their families and carers across North Worcestershire. Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to promoting wellbeing and independence for the over-50s and we pride ourselves in offering a local person-centred service to thousands of people across the districts of Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest.
